Who is up for some bouldering 17.08 - 02.09?

Hi - I'm planing on going to Switzerland and travel around to do some bouldering, in the period 17. aug to 2 september. I don't have any car so I will be travelling by train.

So if you want to show me some cool boulders, or just recommend me a place to go then leave me a note. That would make you an awesome person in my perspective :)

If any one is going to the worldcup in München 24-25 of august I would like to tag along, that would be a cool way to be taking a break from some serious rock climbing.

And if you can recommend any cheap places to stay, that would triple you awsomeness. I will be traveling with a tent.

I know it's a short notice but hope you can help me.

P.S. Your welcome to answer me in German/Switz, I only write in English because my German writing would take forever.

Lindenthal is great I'm going sometimes during the week in the evening, though if you're around Bern, let me know I might have some time in the evening to give you a ride and show you this place.

Hoi,

i have Holiday 21.8. - 29.8. and i want to go bouldering too. 21./22.8. (Grimselpass), 24. - 26.8. (Thuner See /DWS) and 27. - 29.8. ? what we want.

Thanks for the link Brice, sounds really cool, I might consider Lindenthal, as it is right now I plan on spending either a week at Magic woods, Cresciano or maybe Chironico, if the weather is good any of the places, still don't know if I will start or end my trip there. :)

Tempting offer Ralf, I didn't consider that you could DWS i Switzerland, Grimselpass and Thunersee is in the center of Switzerland?

yes, these spots are in center of CH. DWS: There are 8 problems 6a - 7c (10 - 12m). http://www.slack-line.ch (Sundlauenen)
I live near Zürich (25km).

Hey mate,
Forget Cresciano and Chironico if you wanna do serious bouldering. Usually way too hot there in summer.

Magic Wood (5 CHF a night camp ground there) and Gotthardpass (Gottardo) are the places to be in my opinion. If you are alone, better to base yourself in Magic Wood as there are almost always people there in summer.

If you do decide to base yourself in Winterthur, Murgtal is the closest of the better bouldering spots. (about 1hr drive south-east)

Lindenthal is a good spot for a rainy day as it usually stays dry in rain.
The other recomended places are "ok" if you live nearby but definitely nothing I would travel to another country for, IMHO.

A lot of Murgtal and Magic Wood stays wet after rain (narrow valley, in the forest). Gottardpass and the Ticino areas dry up more quickly.

Hope you're lucky with the weather and find some people to climb with.

Again thank for all the great replies, I appreciate it a lot :)

I think I'll do as mister adW recommends and put my base up in Magic Woods as start, cause of the cheap camping and the great bouldering, then can only hope for some good weather. And then I'll see what i'm up for the week after going to München.

If your still like to crimp some rock in Magic Woods Janick(and every one else), the let me know, then we will figure something out together ^_^

I decided to hitch hike my way to Switzerland, so I won't be able to bring a Crashpad, but I heard the you should be able to rent them at the camping site, any one who know anything about that?
